Protection against microorganisms is crucial.

  Nightcrawlers, things being what they are, including the different red fertilizer worms used in vermiculture, rely upon an agreeable relationship with specific smaller than normal living creatures (life forms or microorganisms), to enable them to handle their food. This relationship is an awesome outline of an affiliation that is of comparable benefit for both living things (worthwhile association). The worms convey an enormous number of little organisms on their skin, in their stomach, in the mucous discharges that keep their skin wet, and especially in their dung (tailings) which finally is the vermicompost. Worms can't bite unrefined food as they have no teeth, but the development of the microorganisms truly isolates rough normal waste into a construction that the worms can quickly ingest into their gastrointestinal framework.
